Excited to see that Circling Sevenstar featured in the Newsletter from The Quilt Show
I was recently asked to do an interview with ABC Radio Brisbane about my quilt BEV 10-08. The hostess Rebecca thought she was going to interview me about my Honeycombed Hummer quilt. Luckily I had a photo of the quilt with me (not the best quality). Bev 10-08 will be handing in the Australian Quilt Show in Brisbane this coming week. Once she is back with me, hopefully, I will have heard if it has been accepted into 3 Quilt Shows in the US. Then it will be overseas for the next 12 months, so a very limited time left to see it in Australia.
The interview is linked above.
It came as a surprise to me when a Website in the US asked to interview me following the success of Circling Sevenstar, at Houston Quilt Festival 2023. Over a series of emails a set of questions were sent my way, with the hope I could answer them and include some photos as well.
Despite having family visiting us, I made the time to organise myself, before the deadline I gave Lynn of Create Whimsy.
The final interview was released today and a link is attached. Real and insightful into me, as a “quilter and designer” – still doesn’t sit well with me – but I have been assured I should wear the title with pride.
Now to prepare for another interview later this week with ABC Radio Brisbane – I initially thought they had approached the wrong person, then remembered that BEV 10-08 is coming to Brisbane next week, for the Quilt and Craft Fair, and could currently be considered the Best in Australia.
These are my latest entries in The Australian Quilt Show run by IntoCraft that debuted at AQC in Melbourne last week. The quilt above won First Place Modern then was also awarded Best of Show.
Also debuted at AQC and received a Judges Commendation in the Traditional category. This is a LegitKits pattern wirh my added EPP border.
Both quilts will tour around Eastern States of Australia before returning home in December.
Additionally Circling Sevenstar is about to hang at Paducah Quilt Week. Fingers crossed she is admired favourably. Might even send it on to Houston while it is Stateside.
Circling Sevenstar is currently hanging at EKKA in the Quilts Across Queensland Show in Brisbane. Sporting a First Place and Best in Show ribbon.
In April 2023 I sent it to AQS Paducah Quilt Week Show in America. It was awarded a First Place ribbon.
My latest quilt is touring with The Australian Quilt Show at the Craft and Quilt Fairs in the Eastern Australian States. It is sporting a First Place Ribbon in the Modern Category. I will get to see it again in October in Brisbane.
The big PACKING boxes are filling and so is my Garage space.
