Services and Pricing

Busy Quilting Services
I am an award winning longarm machine quilter using an APQS Millenium longarm machine.  This machine is stitch regulated and I hand guide all movements of the machine. Each pattern is therefore unique as I do not have a computer attached to my machine.
To ensure the best result for your quilted top it needs to be pressed, making sure seams are pressed right direction, borders are lying flat and all loose threads or pet hair have been removed.  Sewing a line of stay stitching 1/8” from the edge of the top will ensure no outer seams pull undone.
Backing Fabric needs to be at least 8” (20cm) longer and wider than your quilt top.  If you are joining fabrics for your backing please join with a ½” seam, and remove internal selvedges.  I appreciate a selvedge left on an outer edge as I then have a straight line to square the backing.
Batting needs to be 6” (15cm) longer and wider than your top.
I have an extensive array of threads and will use what I feel is best for your top.  If you have a specific request please let me know so I can accommodate it. A thread charge will only apply for speciality threads.
I offer a range of quilting services to meet your needs.  As I like to treat every quilt project as if it is one of my own, consultation with you about a design, so that the quilting meets your needs and budget is integral.  To determine the best quilting style, I like to consider how your quilt will be used and cared for in the future.  Will it be a well-loved and an often washed treasure or a show piece for display?  All quilting services are priced per square foot.  To find the square feet of your quilt, multiply length in inches by width in inches then divide that number by 144. Then multiply by the $value per square foot. For example 64” x 96” = 6144 square inches then divide by 144.  6144 / 144 = 42.6 x 5 ($5per square foot) = $213.00.
